How does Alek work?

1.  Use speech to text to record the conversation.
Optionally type part of your response
2.  Then type the important part of your response, although you can skip this step!
Ask the AI to suggest some responses
3.  Next, ask the AI to suggest some possible responses, based on what it knows about you, the conversation and your initial text.
Edit your messaging before speaking it out loud
4.  Finally, you can edit the text, and then you the latest text to speech models to say the message out loud. Then repeat!

Alek is designed to be accessible for users with a wide range of abilities. Alek runs in any standard web browser, so as long as you can control a browser, you can interact with and use Alek.

How much does Alek cost?

Currently we are providing Alek free of charge, it costs you nothing to join our early access programme.

However, unlike traditional text to speech apps, Alek has a lot of ongoing costs due to the extensive use of AI. We are covering these costs at the moment, but in due time there will be a monthly subscription cost associated with using Alek.
